The dictionary is the Intermediate edition of the Thorndike Barnhart Dictionary, published by ScottForesman. It was originally selected by a committee of teachers, parents, and Sara Ingrassia - Jackie Confer Dictionary Fund board members. The Scott-Foresman Thorndike Intermediate Dictionary presents information in a colorful easy-to-understand way that encourages exploration and will serve students at the third grade level and for years to come. In addition to the liberally illustrated definition section of the dictionary, there is a resource section at the back of the book that is a mini-encyclopedia.
